What is the District?

For 3 years strait, the District has been the heart of the Bluehouse line-up.  The success of the company is accredited to the success of this ski.  Every year it has progressed and evolved into one of the best all around skis on the mountain. This ski is big, light, fast and fun.  For a fat ski, the District loves to carve.   It excels in the powder but can handle any snow conditions on any day of the season. It claims a medium-stiff flex providing stability in rough, hard-to-ski conditions.  The District flaunts a full twin-tip making it an excellent cross-over ski between the park and the upper mountain.  The District embraces traditional camber allowing for aggressive carving on groomed runs and hard packed snow.  It goes everywhere and does everything.

Is the District a Good Ski for Me?

The District is for the all around charger.  If you need a pair of skis that you can take out and enjoy any day of the winter, the District is a wise choice.  Some skis are specifically designed to perform in one specific condition.  The District is extremely versatile and allows the rider to enjoy all types of snow.

If you’re trying to improve your skiing and you want a ski that will allow you to do just that, the District is an excellent choice.  With 111 mm (187 length) or 108 mm (176 length), it is an excellent balance between a skinny ski and a superfat ski.  If you’ve been hesitating to give up the skinny skis and try something wider, the District is a perfect step up.

The District, made with a bamboo wood core, is light-weight making it an excellent choice for a backcountry ski.  Its width provides incredible float in soft snow and medium-stiff flex allows for aggressive turns at high speeds but gives enough flex for fun springing in and out of the powder.

Same Materials, Same Constructions, DIFFERENT PRICE!

The Bluehouse District 176 (134-108-122) has been product tested and compared to the following models of similar dimensions:

Volkl Gotama (137/106/122)

Dynastar Legend Pro XXL (139/109/122)

Rossignol S6 (140/110/133)

K2 Obsethed (146/117/134)

Similar to many of these big name models, Bluehouse uses high quality construction materials- ABS plastic sidewalls, p-tex plastic bases, wood cores, steel edges and carbon stringers.  Bluehouse Ski Co. also offers a 1-year warranty against any manufacturing related defect.  See warranty page for details.  In addition, Factory Direct Skis offers free shipping, 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee which allows you to place your order, receive the skis for inspection, feel, flex, and prove to yourself that these skis are a good fit for you.

The District competes in shape and form with the most popular skis in the freeride ski industry.  Not only does the District compete with the most well known brands and models, it outperforms most.  Throughout the winter, the District is a ski that you can rely on.  It is a workhorse for those who are challenging themselves and the favorite play toy for everyone else.  Why spend more for a ski that does less?  The District has it all!

Testimonials reviews

“Great all around ski.  I love carving, straight-lining and popping around in the pow on my Districts.  They jump well, spin nicely and have held up extremely well. Graphics are cool too!  I have 2 other pairs of skis and this one is a ski that I can take out and ski whenever I want.”

Jared Meyers, Park City Utah

“I’ve been a Bluehouse fan since I heard about the company in 2007.  The awesome prices allow me to come back year after year and try out a new ski.  I love my Districts because they really make me try to ski harder and they challenge me to step up and be more aggressive.  They are solid in gnarly conditions and I don’t get knocked around.”

Ben South, Ogden Utah

“What more could I ask for from a ski?  I’m going into year 3 on my Districts and I absolutely love them!  The flex, width, camber, and style are right on.  I can’t believe that I have spent so much for skis in the past.  I’ll be back to FactoryDirectSkis.com next time I need to change things up.  Thanks!”
